I sit
Undulating water just before me
Hawk crying in the distance
Crows closer, calling back and forth
Geese in formation, wings driving North to South
Honking, disappearing South and West
And now. . .
Silent gliding South to North, a single honk
Landing as one across the water near the other side
Sitting
Clouds break, sun above, sparkles reflected below
My eyes, tender in the cool morning, warmth sensed, light felt
Lids close, red-orange illumination inside from out
Sitting
Eyes open, gazing at grass, sparkles and squints
Peaceful walking back
Behind me, small sounds: I look
Geese are up and over the trees, leaving
And leave me with a smile
Undulating water just before me
Hawk crying in the distance
Crows closer, calling back and forth
Geese in formation, wings driving North to South
Honking, disappearing South and West
And now. . .
Silent gliding South to North, a single honk
Landing as one across the water near the other side
Sitting
Clouds break, sun above, sparkles reflected below
My eyes, tender in the cool morning, warmth sensed, light felt
Lids close, red-orange illumination inside from out
Sitting
Eyes open, gazing at grass, sparkles and squints
Peaceful walking back
Behind me, small sounds: I look
Geese are up and over the trees, leaving
And leave me with a smile
